Direct-Vent Water Heater
Another practice that can prevent harmful gases from leaking into the home is specifying a power-vented water heater. These units eliminate the need for a pilot light. A step further is a direct-vent unit. These units have a sealed combustion chamber, virtually eliminating the risk of dangerous carbon monoxide entering the home. Moreover. direct venting continually draws in fresh outside air, rather than the home’s pre-heated air.
