Foundation

Don't Cut Corners in the Basement.

There are less costly methods of building a foundation, such as relying on a waterproofing product to keep block walls dry. When used properly, waterproofing systems have their place, as when used as back-up water protection on lots with poor drainage. However, waterproofing products are more like a bandage – they are not the end-all-be-all solution.

Spray-on waterproofing products are not designed to control cracking, nor prevent water from infiltrating the basement at stress points. They don’t replace foundation insulation. The warranty they carry can be a way for builders to limit their liability and take themselves out of the equation if there’s ever a problem with the basement.

Beyond performance, another key benefit is that the Integra foundation is 8 inches taller than a traditional 11-course block foundation wall, creating a more spacious feeling basement without additional cost.
