James Craig Builds Hope with Two Special New Homes

WAUWATOSA, Wis. (Nov. 8, 2007) — Special home makeovers don’t just happen on TV. James Craig Builders recently built two new homes to help make life a little easier for families in the Milwaukee area.

James Craig Builders, Wauwatosa, built its new Georgetown model in Merton to benefit one of the company’s founders, James “Jim” Nichols. Jim has a rare lung disorder and is currently awaiting a lung transplant.

The new model home was built with the generous support of James Craig’s subcontractors and suppliers. Proceeds from the sale of the home will fund a trust set up to aid Jim and his family with the health care costs for his transplant surgery. A reception was held on Oct. 25, 2007, to celebrate the home’s completion, thank everyone for a job well done and honor Jim for his years of dedication to James Craig Builders.

Another project nearing completion is a home for Andy Wilson and his five children in Sussex. Andy, a firefighter, and his children were forced out of their home after a fire – thankfully everyone was unharmed. After learning about the Wilson’s situation, James Craig Builders agreed to build the family a new home at cost and enlisted the help of its building partners.

“Home is where everything comes together,” said Craig Rakowski, CPA, president and owner of James Craig Builders. “We knew we had to do something for Jim and his family, because we’re in a position to make a difference and improve their quality of life.
