WAUWATOSA, Wis. (Nov. 15, 2007) — James Craig Builders received the 2007 Builder of the Year honor from the Metropolitan Builders Association (MBA) at its annual Installation Dinner on Nov. 8, 2007. James Craig's president and owner, Craig Rakowski, CPA, accepted the award.
"The Builder of the Year award is a wonderful acknowledgement of our team's hard work and dedication to making a difference," said Craig Rakowski. "Our goal at James Craig Builders has never been to be the largest volume home builder, rather to make a difference by enhancing the lives of our customers, setting new standards for home construction in the region and educating consumers about the value of sound building practices."
Builder of the Year is the highest honor the MBA can bestow on one of its members. When nominating recipients for Builder of the Year, the selection committee evaluates a number of criteria, including ethical integrity and active civic and community involvement. Nominees must demonstrate a dedication to the home building industry and be active participants in the Association.
"Craig Rakowski exemplifies professionalism and embraces an industry view," said Matt Moroney, executive director of the MBA. "His ability to see the big picture has led him to fight for state mandated [builder's] education, which was recently adopted by the Wisconsin Department of Commerce. In the many years that I have worked with Craig in his leadership roles at the MBA, I have been inspired by his dedication not only to the industry, but also to his customers. Craig's stellar business practices and his dedication to community made him an excellent choice for Builder of the Year."
